National Park Trail Guide App Reviews

I have the same problem as PKC15608. It doesnt want to complete the update. Also strange is that the update isnt done through the normal Apple Store App update procedure. Is REI trying something different? If so, its not working!!! Please fix it. Thanks.

If this app has any faults, they are minor. Highy recommend.

Get the notification for an update every time I open it but the update doesnt work. No trails or other options load for any park. Really awesome idea though

Such a great service and regular updates with more and more parks being added. Im doing a trip for 30 days to several national parks and this is the best app Ive found and more helpful than most guidebooks. Thanks REI!

I hope they add Yosemite and the trails around Mt Whitney soon.

This app is great for anyone visiting national parks. There is a lot of good general info about each park, along with trail descriptions and cool places to visit in each park. The new map interface is also great; Google terrain base layer and the trail profiles make it easy to visualize hikes and the general layout of the park!

I love this app. It has a lot of missing parks though. There needs to be a way to contribute to those missing places of awesomeness. My biggest gripe is I cannot post my photos publicly without going to another website.

I love the concept of this app but it is missing some parks. Also it is next to impossible to easily swipe through the photos, please fix that.

Out of all the park apps Ive bought, REI Hiking Project displays the best details, photographs, and quality. It is also updated the most allowing frequent affirmations of informations and photos.

I have been searching for a good national parks app for years and found this one. Finally! A good usable national park app, with tons of useful information.

This is great app.

This app is absolutely fantastic and I use it all the time. The only thing I would add to this guide would be the ability to combine and make loop trails of my own. This would allow me to plan out backpacking trips and to share my loops with others. Just a suggestion.

This app makes me want Tonga out and travel. Such a beautiful app.

It doesnt have anything for Joshua Tree National Park...

Great source of information for great parks! Any chance of adding road bike cycling trails? Would make this a one stop shop!!

Wow, the information contained within this app is amazing! One of the best that Ive seen. My only gripe is I wish there was a way to click on a button to advance the photos forwards & backwards on the iPad, instead of swiping it. It takes several finger swipes to move to the next picture and it gets old really fast.

Seriously, REI is one of the coolest, most generous companies in the universe. They are always looking to give back, and this app is just fantastic. Super well designed, sleek, and fast! I absolutely love it!!!!!

As soon as I downloaded this app and looked at it I knew I would be keeping it. It works really well and has tons of features. You can see dozens of parks (including National historic parks and trails). They show "gems", trails, and so much more for the parks.
