National Park Trail Guide App Reviews

Added features are welcome and the app has been working excellently!

Very little information provided. Trail descriptions are vague at best. Not a real guide, more of a pamphlet!

This app is a good idea, but lacking in complete information. It took me just one minute to find a missing trail in Olympic NP. Some unofficial, off-trail routes have been included, suggesting that the casual hiker might be able to complete such a route without appropriate research, planning and preparation.

Amazing app, it is great as for just a user as well as a contributor. Staff and reviewers are prompt and very responsive. As the time goes on and people contribute more and more content it will be the greatest adventure guide there ever was and will be!

This is a great app, and simple to use. Updates seem regular, so clearly trails are continuously being added. The one thing I dont see or havent found, is the ability to mark trails that Ive hiked. My wife and I live near RMNP and we want to hike "every" trail in the park. It would be nice to be able to keep a log of trails weve done.

This app needs a ton of work. Only the most popular places, where anyone can get a trail map from the local store.

All things can be improved, but this app is already perfect. Sure, some trails are missing and I would like to see National Monuments added, but for every National Park lover the app is a must have. As a REI Member I appreciate the work and that it is free for everyone.

Amazing app that offers great info for people new to these parks. The detailed trail maps superimposed on Google Maps and the elevation maps are amazingly helpful. Apps function as advertised and is a must have for a national park explorer!

This has all you need to explore our National trails and parks. Give yourself an excuse to discover the beauty of our country. Take a trip and see how good this app really is.

As an avid hiker/explorer this app is perfect for just browsing and coming up with trip ideas!

Love this app. A photographers handbook and a pack packers dream. Could not ask for more. This will be so helpful in planning my trip in late September. Love what views you will see on each trail. LOVE WHAT YOU WILL SEE AS FAR AS PLANTS AND ANIMAL AS WELL AS THE LINKS TO FAUNA. Thanks so much REI.

Good app. Lots of useful info to prepare for upcoming outing. But, it has a lot of National Parks missing.

I downloaded this app on a whim, and I was blown away by it. It is incredibly thorough, not only with descriptions about the trails (difficulty, length, ascent, etc) but also what you will see and experience. Each park has "gems" which are a de facto "greatest hits" that need to be visited. The interactive map couldnt be more helpful. Right now there are only a handful of parks that are completely finished for the app, but there about 40 more that are being worked on. I honestly cant think of a thing that is bad about this app!

Cant wait for them to add more parks, but its off to a great start!

Great concept with lots of good detail on the Parks provided so far. Cant wait till even more parts are included. Especially Shenandoah national Park

This is the best app if you are going to the natl parks

Concept is wonderful. Having trail info, hours, lodging, etc all in one place for the National Parks is perfect. However: the last 4 times Ive used the app, a window pops up saying there are updates, with the option to accept or wait. Every time I accept it begins downloading, cycles thru the names of several parks, & then ALWAYS near the end, the app goes black. Next time I open app, it offers the same update…with the same result at the end.

This app is amazing!! Very comprehensive list of hikes available in national parks, difficulties, camping, when the park is open, etc etc etc. I cant wait for my next trip to a national park to utilize this app more!

Im looking forward to Summer and this app. Hikes, trail info and reviews, costs, links to permits, GPS, Maps integration. I dont know what else you could want! Thanks REI, for doing this, another reason to be a member.
